Wednesday, July 1 - Jaggo Ceremony
The Jaggo (meaning "wake up") is a vibrant, loud, and joyful pre-wedding tradition in Punjabi weddings held on a night before the wedding. Families stay up all night singing, dancing (Gidda/Bhangra), and celebrating to invite the community to the wedding, traditionally involving dancing with decorated copper/brass pots (khadaa) lit with candles on their heads.

Friday, July 3 - Wedding Day
A Sikh wedding is a beautiful "Ceremony of Bliss" (Anand Karaj) that celebrates the union of two souls and two families.
On July 3, 2026, the day begins with the Baraat, a lively procession where the groom's family arrives with music and dancing, followed by the Milni, a formal greeting where our families meet and exchange garlands.
Inside the Sri Guru Nanak Sikh Temple sanctuary, the heart of the wedding involves the Laavan - four sacred rounds walked around the Guru Granth Sahib to symbolize spiritual growth and commitment. We will then conclude the morning by sharing our first meal together as a community with a traditional vegetarian Langar.
Note for Guests: Please remember to bring a head covering (or use the scarves provided) and bring socks, as shoes are removed before entering the prayer hall.

Saturday, July 4 - Wedding Reception
The evening will be a high-energy party featuring our grand entrance, heartfelt toasts, and a delicious dinner overlooking the river. Most of the night will be spent on the dance floor to the beat of the dhol and the latest Bhangra hits!
Since it’s the Fourth of July, we can't wait to celebrate our new beginning with a night of food, family, and festive fireworks.
